"Jan’s Yarn Barn is hands down my favorite store. I go to Jan’s often! I love her selection of yarn. She has range in prices of yarn too. I also like having a local place where I can quickly replace tools or knitting needles instead of waiting for them to come in the mail. I highly recommend yarn lovers, crocheters, and knitters to visit Jan’s store. I enjoy our great conversations and learning new techniques and crafting ideas from her as well.

She is a delight to visit with (as well as her husband) and was very helpful with questions I had about yarns for specific projects. Her selection of yarns is fantastic and she carries a number of brands that were new to me. I recommend Jan’s Yarn Barn as a definite stop when in the Newton area."

"Jan, was exceptional! This store was well stocked. I didn't know what yarn to buy. I asked Jan for her suggestions and explained what I wanted to make with the yarn I was buying. She was so helpful!! I bought a lot of yarn. It was sooo soft & silky to the touch. It should be excellent to work with. Jan and I discussed an issue that if I needed more yarn for my projects, it would not be a problem! I could talk to her on the phone about it. I would buy the yarn over the phone, +
shipping and she would mail it to me. I live in Central TX, now that's service!!"

Fast forward to Aug. 2022, again en route to CO., when I left home without my pattern for my WIP Entrelac blanket & I was lost! Remembering I would pass Jan’s Yarn Barn, I was hopeful for some guidance. Jan printed out my pattern & she and customer Lorrie got me back on track. Thinking I would be :15 min and on-my-way again turned into 90 min of advice, projects, laughs & chit chat. Jan had tremendous understanding that sometimes you just can’t wrap your head around a pattern. She & Lorrie are wonderful & the shoppe is knitters delight! Stop if your driving by and add to your Stash or in need of help!"

"I was visiting friends in Newton and found this delightful yarn shop filled with a wide selection of yarns! Jan, the owner, has information sheets posted throughout the store to help you know how much yarn you will need for a project! That was super helpful since I didn't have any patterns with me. I was able to buy enough yarn for a scarf and a baby blanket and enjoyed the conversation I had with Jan! I real gem in Newton, Iowa and one not to be missed if you are a knitter!"
